Does Japan Rabbit offer vacuum packing?

Edited

Yes. We offer vacuum packing to reduce the size of bulky, soft items such as plush toys, thick blankets, pillows, and jackets. By reducing volume, vacuum packing can lower shipping costs. Some customers can save up to $100–$150 USD in shipping fees, depending on the items.

How to request vacuum packing

  1. Once your package has been received at our warehouse, submit a packing request without Priority Processing.

  2. Contact us to let us know which package and which specific item(s) you would like vacuum-packed.

  3. Our packing team will then vacuum-pack the requested items wherever possible during the packing process.

  4. Once packing is complete, we'll let you know which vacuum bags were used and the final cost.

Please note that we're unable to provide a cost estimate in advance or guarantee that every requested item can be vacuum-packed, as this depends on the items themselves and our packing team's judgment during repacking.

Important notes

  • The number and size of vacuum bags used depend on your items and our packing team’s judgment during repacking. We will use as few bags as possible and choose the smallest sizes that can reasonably fit your items.

  • If your items are too small or there are too few items to benefit from vacuum packing, we may determine the service is unnecessary, and you will not be charged.

  • For plush toys, vacuum packing can sometimes create an awkward bag shape that wastes space. In these cases, our team may leave some plush toys unvacuumed and use them as fillers to reduce empty space in the box.
