Account Verification: What It Is and How It Works

Edited

To help keep Japan Rabbit safe and secure for everyone, we sometimes ask customers to verify their account before continuing. If your account needs verifying, we'll email you and guide you through a quick in-app process. Being asked to verify does not mean anything is wrong, in most cases it's simply a routine security check that protects both you and our platform.

When verification may be requested

You may be asked to verify your account in cases such as:

  • High-value orders, where the order or recent account spending reaches a certain level.

  • Unusual account activity, where something about the account needs a closer look.

If verification is required, we'll send you an email and guide you through the process the next time you log in.

What you'll need to submit

On the verification screen, you'll be asked to upload two items:

  1. A photo ID (your ID number can be redacted).

  2. A photo of your payment card (with the first digits hidden).

We only need partial details to verify your identity, we never ask for your full card number. During the verification process, we'll show you exactly what to upload.

While it's being reviewed

Transactional features on your account are temporarily paused, and any page you visit will redirect you to the verification screen until the process is complete. This is normal and only lasts until the review is finished.

After verification

You'll receive an email at each step, when verification is requested, approved, or if we need something further.

  • If approved: full access is restored automatically, and you'll receive a confirmation email.

  • If we need more information: we'll email you the reason, and in some cases you may be asked to resubmit your documents.

Is my information secure?

Yes. Your documents are submitted securely and used only to verify your identity and payment method.

If you have any questions, just reply to the email we sent or contact our support team, and we'll be happy to help.
